Selling at auction

STEP1.

Appraisal

The best place to start is to request a call to discuss your vehicle or item to sell, and we can advise on an auction estimate. Good quality photographs and history or provenance will help our specialists give you an indicative range of values. Auction estimates can be given in person by appointment at the saleroom, or at your home for vehicles, larger items or collections.

STEP 2.

Consign

Once you are ready to sell, the next step is to consign into auction. You are welcome to bring your items to the saleroom or arrange for transportation. For vehicles we can advise how and when to deliver to the auction venue, and best to prepare the car or motorbike for sale. We will complete a consignment confirmation with you to confirm the estimate and allocate the Lots to an auction. Our standard sellers commission is 5%+vat for motor vehicles, for collectibles it is 15%+vat, along with 1% (plus VAT) for insurance and any other applicable charges. Please see our Terms and Conditions of Sale for further details.

Auction day is the highlight of the process - there’s nothing like the buzz and atmosphere of the saleroom. To be part of the action, watch the auction online via www.drmotoring.com or join us in the saleroom to experience sale day first hand!

STEP 4.

We will notify you of the result of the auction by email, or you can call us to find out. A settlement statement will be sent to you confirming the amount you will receive. Your payment will be made normally in 14 days following the auction, by BACS.
